Gekko video core & dual core progress update

Just wanted to give a quick shoutout to say that the project is still alive and kicking Smile  Recent progress has resulted in:

  • A new video core developed for OpenGL 3.3 that brings dual core support to Gekko.  It's currently capable of booting many commercial games in wireframe, and makes the interpreter run nearly fullspeed!
  • A new cross-platform Qt frontent that includes a really slick PowerPC debugger, dockable windows, and game list/grid views
  • Joypad emulation

You can grab an unofficial build from the latest Git as of 2012-07-12 in this thread to try it out for yourself.  Here are some screenshots that you can expect from the new core:

Textures coming very soon.  Cheers Smile

Yeah out-of-box Windows 8 support on a fanless PC! Matt you are making us look bad with your low FPS, needs a big red disclaimer that says !!THIS IS BASICALLY RUNNING ON A PHONE!!.

RE: Gekko video core & dual core progress update
Hahaha yeah... you know I installed VS 2012 RC to compile source. Other than having to update the build version on each project it seems to work.

However the build seems a bit different in terms of how its compiled since it will crash at a certain point in Sonic, while it doesnt with the one I compiled on win7+VS2010.... just saying Wink
