Crazy Taxi | New video core
Got 2nd game to show something interesting - Crazy Taxi. Now we all know this one is really easy to emulate, and it's still really glitchy. *However* this is a really good one to draw a comparison to the old core with:

As you can see - the new video core absolutely SCREAMS compared to the old one. The important thing here is a game needs to be GPU limited to really shine (e.g. Animal Crossing is about the same speed on the old core as it doesn't really draw that much).

It's going to be really exciting when some of the better games start booting. Pretty friggen awesome to be emulating GameCube this fast with just interpreter and pure C/C++ Big Grin

What are the specs of the PC you're running this on? I'm curious to see the speeds I get in comparison.

Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 2.4GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: 4GB DDR3-1333

RE: Crazy Taxi | New video core
My desktop is:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Athlon ll X4 630 (P) 2.8 GHz
GPU: Radeon HD5550
RAM: 6GB PC3-10600

It’s probably about as powerful as your laptop – I’m not particularly impressed with the performance of the Athlon II (compared to my Llano A8 desktop). My 4 year old Core 2 Duo laptop actually outperforms it, so needless to say the next machine I build is going to have a high end Intel CPU Tongue
