XBMC 11.0 Eden
This is a pretty cool media center for movies, music and pictures (among other things). You can grab it here if you're interested.

Here are some shots of some menus and some of my movies.

Thanks for the share [SS]...

I just started using XBMC over the past few months, and have really come to love it Smile Enough so that I could justify ditching my cable and just doing XBMC + NetFlix/AmazonPrime/Pandora/Hulu. Haven't tried the new version yet (I've got to redo my media library anyways), but looking forward to it.

Yeah, I think normal TV and cable services will slowly die. With internet, having tons of movies and TV shows, you really don't need a TV anymore. I can do everything I need and more on this laptop and it can go where I go. Tongue

Hmmm I'm building an HTPC. Might give it a try. I've been hearing the name for so many years but have never tried it out.

Yeah - IMO XBMC is the best media center software around. I still have my needs for WMC (mostly for live TV and DVR), but for any of my own media XBMC rains supreme.

When it comes to building HTPC (and considerations of cancelling your cable bill), I highly recommend picking up a HD over the air TV tuner card + a Mohu Leaf (http://www.gomohu.com/). The Mohu is a fantastic antenna, and totally worth $40. I think right off the bat I got something like 25 HD channels in for free with it.

I already have an OTA HD reception thingy that I have plugged on my secondary TV in my bedroom. Problem is the way my apartment is positioned, I get lousy signal (only 3 channels). Ok, it's a cheap one I got for 20$ but according to reviews and other people in my area, I should be getting at least 10-15 channels. I'll reconsider that once I get my own place where I can get an outdoor antenna Smile
