Starting next month, Europe will be getting a new Wii model with a new blue color. Furthermore, the new Mario & Sonic at London 2012 Olympic Games for Wii will be bundeled with this system, and a Wii Remote Plus. This seems pretty exciting, except for the fact that Nintendo has stripped out a very important feature to reduce size and cost: GameCube support. The four control ports have been removed. While this new Wii has only been confirmed for Europe, if Nintendo is heading in the direction of a stripped-down model it will likely make its way here. There has also been some speculation that the vertical stand has been removed.
